Vote counting of the DUCSU election is underway. The counting is going on with Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machines.
Chief Returning Officer Dr. SM Mahfuzur Rahman said, “Election is almost over and the vote counting teams have already taken position at ten halls.”
We postponed voting at Kuwait Friendship Hall for one hour but voting has resumed, he added.
The votes will be counted at halls and afterwards the result will be declared from halls with the final result declared by the Chief Returning Officer.
Assistant proctor of Dhaka University, Abdur Rahim, said, “Voting has resumed at Rokeya Hall.”
Meanwhile, apart from Chhatra League, all other parties have boycotted election citing irregularities.
Demanding cancellation of the votes, they have taken position in front of the VC’s residence.
However, Dhaka University VC Professor Akhtaruzzaman has claimed that the election was held in a festive and peaceful manner, barring a few sporadic incidents.
