Robert Chatterton Dickson has been appointed British High Commissioner to Bangladesh in succession to Alison Blake.

Dickson will take up his appointment this month, said a press release of the UK High Commission.

Prior to his new assignment, he was Additional Director of Western Balkans Programme at the FCO.

He worked as Joint Head of Counter Terrorism Department, Deputy Head of Security and Operations, Iraq Policy Unit, and Head of NATO Section, Security Policy Department.

He was ambassador to Macedonia and Deputy Head of Mission in Kabul.
