Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh chief AQM Badruddoza has welcomed the government’s initiative for a dialogue with newly-formed alliance Jatiya Oikya Front and has written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina calling for talks with his party.

“The letter will be handed over to the staff of the Awami League office soon,” Bikalpa Dhara Organising Secretary Umar Faruq told Bangla Tribune.

A similar letter addressed to Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader by Bikalpa Dhara Secretary General Abdul Mannan will be also handed over, he said.

Around 8pm, Bikalpa Dhara leadership received a phone call from Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, who asked the letter to be handed at Parliament. The decision to write Awami League chief and PM Hasina calling for talks came after a meeting of Bikalpa Dhara’s policymaking presidium on Tuesday.

Around 8pm, Bikalpa Dhara leadership received a phone call from Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, who asked the letter to be handed at Parliament.

In the letter, Badruddoza said that they were “delighted” to see Hasina taking steps for talks as demanded by his party to “overcome the current political crisis”.

“In this circumstance, we will be happy if you invite us to a political dialogue at a time that suits you,” he wrote.

“We believe that every problem during this critical political juncture facing the nation can be resolved through good wishes and goodwill,” he added.
