Mirza Fakhrul, 3 other BNP leaders secure anticipatory bail

Four BNP leaders, including its secretary general, have secured anticipatory bails in a case on charges of attacking police in front of the Supreme Court during a demonstration on Tuesday (Nov 26).
On Thursday (Nov 28), the High Court granted eight weeks bail to Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and senior leaders Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Kayser Kamal.
It also ordered the BNP leaders to surrender to the trial court before their bail expires.

The case was filed with Shahbag police against 500 people in connection with Tuesday’s clash between police and a group of BNP leaders, activists.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its associates have hold demonstration in front of the Supreme Court, seeking the release of the party’s incarcerated Chairperson Khaleda Zia on that day.
