If evidence is found that DIG Mizanur Rahman gave bribes to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director, Khandaker Enamul Basir, then the police will take necessary action against the accused officer.
“The issue has come to our notice and efforts will be taken to probe the matter,” said AIG Sohel Rana, of the police headquarters said on Tuesday (Jun 11).
ACC carried out a drive to investigate accusations of ill-gotten wealth by DIG Mizanur Rahman and a report was submitted last month. The investigation was done by ACC official Enamul Basir. DIG Mizan later said that he gave Basir Tk 4 million to influence the investigation report in his favour.
ACC has suspended Basir and the police HQ has said that it will look into the bribe handed by DIG Mizan.
