As many as 20 activists of the ruling party’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been held over a factional clash at Chattogram University (CU).
Police arrested the detainees after a raid early on Wednesday (Jan 22), confirmed Hathazari police OC Mohammad Masud Alam.
On Wednesday (Jan 22) evening two factions of BCL’s Chattogram University unit clashed on campus.
OC Alam said that the clash broke out over exercising power and police arrested the suspects after raids in Shah Amanat and Suhrawardy halls.
CU Proctor SM Monirul Islam said that the authorities have asked police to take legal steps against the suspects for hindering the educational atmosphere.
