Bangladesh Metrological Office Assistant Meteorologist Md Anisur Rahman said that the temperature, the lowest in the country, was recorded as of 9 am on Thursday (Jan 23).

The lowest temperature in the country has been recorded in Sreemangal for three consecutive days.

According to locals, people especially those with low income are suffering tremendously due to extreme cold.

The met office has predicted dry weather with partly cloudy sky over the country for the next 24 hours.

Moderate to thick fog may occur at places during late night to morning, a met office forecast said.

Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Tangail, Rangamati and Naogaon and it may continue at places.
