Unidentified miscreants have killed a seven-year-old boy in Kishoreganj’s Bajitpur Upazila.
The incident was reported on Thursday (Dec 20) evening from Gazirchar village in the upazila’s Gazirchar Union, said police.
The victim has been identified as Abir, son of Gazirchar Union Parishad chairman Md Jewel Mia.
Quoting locals, police said that Abir was found throat slit at a bush behind the residence of the UP chairman and in a critical condition, he was rushed to Johurul Islam Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
The victim was missing since Wednesday (Dec 18) night and found in a critical condition on Thursday evening.
Confirming the incident, Bajitpur police OC Md Khalilur Rahman Patwary said, “The body has been kept at the hospital for autopsy.”
“We are investigating the matter to identify the motive and the murderers involved in the incident,” added OC Rahman.
