Miscreants have attacked a Victory Day programme in the east-central district of Brahmanbaria and vandalised photos of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The incident took place at Brahmanbaria Zilla Parishad premises around 9:15am on Monday (Dec 16).
District authorities organised the event to mark the 49th Victory Day as well as to give a reception to the Freedom Fighters (FFs).
The attack sparked  protest among FFs as a procession was brought out protesting against the vandalism.
"We demand the culprits be brought under book and their identifies be made public," said Jogesh Chandra Roy, a FF from the district's Nasirnagar Upazila, who attended the event.
Mentioning the incident a "terror attack" Brahmanbaria Zilla Parishad Chairman Shafiqul Alam warned of legal action against the perpetrators
"It's an unforgivable act. Legal action will be taken against everyone involved in the incident," Alam said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Alamgir Hossain said they have opened an investigation into the attack.
