Police have arrested a man for allegedly drowning his 18-day-old baby at Gazipur’s Sreepur Upazila.
Bijoy Hasan was arrested on Sunday (Oct 27) from the scene, confirmed Sreepur Police Sub Inspector Rekha Rani.
The infant’s grandfather Mofajjol Hossain alleged that Bijoy drowned the baby in a bucket full of water on Sunday (Oct 27) morning.
He said that the child was taken to to Sreepur Upazilla Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
According to Mofazzol, Bijoy threatened to kill the baby, when his wife was expecting.
SI Rani said that legal action is being initiated against Bijoy.
