The accused in the murder of a minor by pumping air into his rectum has confessed before a court in Bogura.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Begum Shupriya Rahman recorded the confessional statement of Jatan Karmakar, 17, on Saturday (Oct 26).

Jatan confessed to pumping air into body of his twelve-year-old coworker Alal Hossain in a Jute mill of Bogura’s Kahalu, Court Inspector Abul Kamal Azad said.

Previously on Saturday morning, Alal’s father Mozahar Ali filed a case against Jatan Karmakar and an unidentified person over the murder of his son.

Kahalu police OC Zia Lotiful Islam said, Jatan confessed to his crime during primary interrogation.

According to case document, Alal worked in Upazilla’s Murail Jute Mill. On Friday (Oct 25) morning, Jatan pumped air into his body through his rectum with machine cleaner.

Alal was taken to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital with heavy injuries where he died that day.
