Authorities at Bangladesh Open University have cancelled all examinations and registration of the Bachelor of Arts examination of Tamanna Nusrat Bubly, ruling Awami League lawmaker for reserved seats for women, on allegation of a proxy appearing in the exam on her behalf.
The decision was taken at an urgent meeting of BOU office in Gazipur on Sunday (Oct 20), said the university vice-chancellor MA Mannan.
The move came a day after a proxy of Bubly was identified at Narsingdi Government College centre sat for the examination on Saturday (Oct 19).
The VC said that as the proxy scam was revealed by the media, the BOU authorities decided to expel her from the examination following an initial investigation.
Besides, a four-member committee has been formed to future look into the matter and it has been asked to report within three days, he added.
Bubly is the wife of fomer Narsingdi mayor Lokman Hossain, who was shot dead by the terrorists at the local Awami League office on Nov 1, 2011.
