The DIG was briefing the media from the Naogaon superintendent of police’s (SP) office. At the time, Natore SP Liton Kumar Saha and other top level police officials were also present.
DIG Hafiz said: “Anwar hails from Raninagar’s Harishpur village in Naogaon.

He has killed females of different ages, with some of his victims being 13, 32, 45, and 60 years of age, the DIG said.
"Anwar also raped some of his victims before killing them. He showed no remorse about the rape and murders," the DIG said during the press briefing, quoting Anwar.
Three of his accomplices - Rubel Ali, 22, Asadul, 36, and Anwar’s brother-in-law Shahin, 35 - were arrested earlier.
Liton Kha, a jewellery trader, was also arrested for buying the stolen valuables.
