GazipurPolice in Gazipur have recovered the bodies of a man, his wife and their daughter from their home in the city’s Haidarabad.
Forty-year-old Kamal Hossain was found hanging from the ceiling while the throat-slit bodies of his wife Nazma Begum, 35 and daughter Sanzida Kamal, 19, were found inside one of the rooms, said Sub-Inspector Shafiqul Islam of Gazipur’s Joydebpur Police Station.
He said the bodies of the females had injuries inflicted by sharp weapons on several places, apart from the throat.
The bodies were recovered Thursday morning after relatives reported to the police, added Sub-Inspector Islam.
Kamal’s sister-in-law Mahmuda told the media that she spotted him hanging from the ceiling of the balcony around 10:30am. As she screamed local gathered and entered the house only to find his wife and daughter dead.
Police suspect Kamal murdered his wife and daughter before killing himself.
“Initial investigations suggest the man hacked his wife and daughter to death before committing suicide. However, we are not ruling out involvement of others,” Superintendent of Police Md Harun-or-Rashid said.
