A case has been filed over the killings of the nonagenarian mother and her daughter in Chattogram on Sunday night.
Khulshi Police Station OC Sheikh Mohammad Nasir Uddin said, “One of the victims’ relatives and two other suspects has been detained over the killings.”
The victims, Monwara Begum, 95 and her daughter Meherunnesa Begum, 67 were found dead in the reserve tank of a house at Khulshi area of the port city Chattogram.
Mostafizur Rahman, son of Monwara, has filed a case over the killings with the police station without stating any suspect.
The 95-year-old has been killed by suffocation and her daughter was hit on her head.
“After primary investigation, police suspect that they were killed to grab victims’ property,” said the OC.
He said Musfiqur Rahman, nephew of Monowara, and another suspect Emon have been held by police, he said.
“Police are interrogating the suspects,” he added.
