Two members of the MN Larma faction of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) have been shot dead in Rangamati district.
Unidentified assailants gunned down Risel Chakma, 25, and Barshan Chakma, 24, late on Tuesday (Sept 18) at the remote village Nobochharai in Baghaichhari Upazila, Additional Superintendent of Police Sufi Ullah told Bangla Tribune.
“The village is in a very remote region. A team of Baghachhari police as well as the BGB has headed for there,” he told Bangla Tribune.
The PCJSS MN Larma faction blamed the faction led by Santu Larma for the killings.
“Ripel and Barshan were killed by an armed group of Santu Larma faction because they were pur supporters,” Gyan Jiban Chakma, general secretary of PCJSS MN Larma faction’s Baghachhari unit, told Bangla Tribune.
No leaders of PCJSS (Santu Larma) could be reached immediately for comments.
