The Department of Forest has recovered the body of a full-grown tigress from Chhaprakhali area under its East Division at Sundarban in Khulna.

Forest officials from the Kotka outpost recovered the animal’s body around 12 pm on Tuesday (Aug 20), confirmed Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Sundarban (east) Mahmudul Hasan.

The body was brought to the Soronkhola range office on Tuesday afternoon, the DFO said.

It was primarily suspected that the tigress had died of old age complications.

Veterinarians from Bagerhat and Khulna were coming down to the range to conduct a post‑mortem examination on the animal's body, the DFO added.
