Three people including a couple were killed in a bus accident in Mirzapur upazila of the district on Sunday (Aug 4).

The accident occurred at Kadim Dewhata on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway around 11 am.

The victims were identified as Jahangir, 35, his wife Taslima, 28, auto-rickshaw driver Shoriful,40, of Bayimhati village under Mirzapur municipal area.

“A Gazipur-bound bus ran over an auto-rickshaw which was heading towards Kumudini Hospital of Mirzapur, killing Taslima on the spot, “ Sayedur Rahman, OC of Mirzapur police station, told Bangla Tribune.

The deceased couple were travelling with their child who is alright, added the OC.
