A van puller, who was injured in a mob lynch attack in Tangail on suspicious of being a child lifter, has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The victim, 30-year-old Minu Mia died early on Monday (Jul 29), after battling for life for eight days, said Kalihati police OC Al Mamun.
"He was beaten up mercilessly by a mob at Kandila Bazar in Sadar upazila on Jul 21," said OC Mamun.
"Victim's brother has filed a case," said the OC before adding, "So far, police have arrested six people in connection with the incident."
Bangladesh has recently seen a rise in mob lynching incidents across the country.
With Minu’s death, so far, ten people have been killed in mob violence based on different kinds of rumours.
On Jul 24, Inspector General of Police Md Javed Patwary said around 103 people were arrested under 31 cases filed centering the incidents.
