Two alleged robbers were killed in a ‘shootout’ with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Chattogram in the early hours of Tuesday (Jun 4).
“A group of robbers were robbing a Dhaka-bound private car near Kumira Bridge,” RAB-7 Assistant Director (media) Mashkur Rahman told the media.
“A RAB patrol team reached the scene when the robbers opened fire after which RAB fired back in self defence,” he added.
He said that at one point the ‘robbers’ escaped and two bullet-ridden bodies, which are yet to be identified were recovered from the scene.
Rahman said that they seized three guns, 31 rounds of ammunition and some knives from the scene.
