Police detain Indian gold smuggler on Friday, June 8, 2018.Police have detained an Indian with 350 grams gold bars at the Benapole customs land port.
Customs Intelligence arrested Ranjan at 9:30am Friday when he was trying to cross immigration check point.
Confirming it Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Syfur Rahman said, after interrogation, he has been handed over to Benapole police station.
Ranjan with passport number Z-3865117 is a son of Anil Saha and lives at Bhupen Nagar under Behala police station in Kolkata.
Customs Intelligence sources said, they had prior information that Ranjan would smuggle out a huge quantity of gold and took position at the immigration centre.
