The country’s first Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed’s son, Tanjim Ahmed Sohel Taj’s recent statement that he would give ‘good news’ after Eid has stirred people of Gazipur as well as the country.

There has been a positive buzz in the media and among the people of Gazipur, especially Kapasia, since he made the announcement through a Facebook post on May 31.
Leaders of Kapasia upazila Awami League and other organisations have taken his statement affirmatively.
Although none can assure whether he would return to politics or not.
On 31 May last, Sohel Taj, wrote on his Facebook page, "For some days, I was wondering if I can do something positive for my motherland, Bangladesh, especially, for the young generation.
Sohel TazAfter profound contemplation, I have reached a decision which I will reveal after Eid!”
He also wrote, “I want to inform those who are commenting that I should return to the country – I actually live ‘in’ the country for most of the time.”
Kapasia Upazila Awami League President Muhammad Shahidullah said:
"At present, Sohel Taj is working with Tajuddin Ahmed and Johora Tajuddin Foundation; as far as I know, he is thinking about a project to work for the young generation from outside politics.”

He wants to prove that it’s possible to work for the betterment of society from outside the political sphere, added the upazila AL president.

Sohel TazAffirming that Sohel Taj always thinks about galvanizing the young for a constructive cause, Kaphsia Upazila Juba League General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain Pradhan observed: “He always says that one should take part in politics for the welfare of the masses.”
Pradhan confidently feels that Sohel Taj will stay by his sister Simin Hossain Rimi, MP of Kapasia, and work for overall improvement of life.
“He often tells us that politics is not meant to earn money,” said the upzila Juba League official emphatically.
