A Bangladeshi man has been shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) at Chapainawabganj’s Shibganj upazila.
The incident was reported from the upazila’s Masudpur border in the early hours of Saturday (Apr 19).
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Bisharat Ali Bishu.
According to locals, BSF opened fire when a few people crossed over to Indian territories to bring cattle.
Bishu was shot on his back and died while his companions were bringing him back.
His companions left his body at a paddy field and escaped after he dies.
Chapainawabganj-53 Bangladesh Border Guard chief Sajjad Sarwer Hossain said that he was aware of a dead body being found in the paddy fields.
