Police have arrested six suspects for allegedly raping a woman in front of her husband in Tangail.

The incident occurred at the DC Lake area of the district on Friday (Apr 12) night.

According to the victim, she and her husband went to the Notun Bus Stand area on Friday night.

Later, several individuals forcefully took them away to the DC Lake area where three of them raped the woman in front of her husband.

The husband then informed the duty officer at the Sadar police station.

Tangail model police station OC Sayedur Rahman said, "The victim has been admitted at the Tangail General Hospital.

"We conducted drives in the area and have arrested the three main accused. We arrested three more suspects for aiding them."

A case has been filed by the victim's husband regarding the incident with the Tangail model police station on Saturday.

When contacted, Tangail General Hospital Director Dr Narayan Chandra Saha said, "The victim has been admitted around 5am on Saturday. She is undergoing treatment here."
