A mentally disabled young woman was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man at Naogaon’s Raninagar Upazila.
The incident took place on Wednesday (Apr 10) but a case was filed in the matter on Friday (Apr 12).
Raninagar police Sub Inspector Selim said that 60-year-old Gobinda Chandra lured the 24-year-old mentally disabled woman to his home with a biscuit and raped her.
“The girl informed her family members in sign language after which her father lodged a case with Raninagar police on Friday,” he said.
He added that all medical tests on the girl have been completed.
Raninagar police OC SM Siddiqur Rahman said that they haven’t been able to arrest Gobinda as he was on the run.
