At least eight people have died in Joypurhat after a passenger bus flipped over into a roadside pit.
The incident, reported around 1:30pm on Friday (Apr 12) in Baniarpara, left at least 30 injured.
Five among the deceased are women while the other three are men, said Joypurhat sadar OC Muminul Haque before adding that their identities were not immediately available.
Joypurhat Adhuni Hospital Emergency Department doctor Nurunnabi said that 22 people have been taken to the hospital and more were on their way.
“Three are critically injured,” he said and added that they have been transferred to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
