A jute warehouse has been gutted in a fire that broke out in Pashuhat area under Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga.
The fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday (Apr 7).
It took three firefighting units more than two hours to tame the flames, Abdus Salam, deputy director of Chuadanga Fire Service and Civil Defence told Bangla Tribune.
Nearly 1,000 maunds of jute were burnt to ashes in the fire, Salam said.
"There are several jute warehouses in the Pashuhat area," said the deputy director before adding "The fire broke out at Mohibul Islam's warehouse.”
The fire might have been ignited from an electric short circuit, added Salam.
