The shuttle train service of Chittagong University (CU) has temporarily been halted after the loco master of the railway station failed to show up.
“No university-bound train has left the Sholoshahar Railway Station since Sunday morning,” Railway Station Master (in-charge) Tonmoy Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune.
Government Railway Police OC Mostafiz Bhuiyan said, “We are not sure why the loco master failed to show up at the station.
"However, police are on their way to the loco master's house to look into the matter."
The station master said academic activities in the campus have been disrupted, as many students could not attend classes due to the unavailability of the shuttle service.
"Besides, a faction of Chhatra League has padlocked the main gate, and called upon a strike on the campus, due to internal clashes with another faction," Tonmoy said.
He said, "The protesting faction is demanding that the cases, which was lodged by the other faction be withdrawn."
