At least seven people were killed and 25 others have been injured after a bus veered off and fell into a road side ditch after being hit by a truck on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway.

The incident was reported around 12pm on Thursday (Mar 28) from Madaripur Sadar Upazila’s Kolabari area, said police.

A Madaripur bound bus fell into a roadside ditch after it was hit by a truck. Three people died on the spot while another four succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, said police.

Citing witnesses they said that 25 other people were were injured in the accident.

“Police and Fire Service members searching for other victims in the bus,” Madaripur police OC Kamrul Hasan told Bangla Tribune.
