A case has been filed over the death of 13 workers who were killed when a coal-laden truck tumbled over and fell on their hut at a brickfield at Cumilla’s Chouddagram.
The brother of a deceased worker, Sanjit Chandra filed a case with Chouddagram police on Friday (Jan 25) against the truck driver and his assistant.
The driver and his assistant have been charged with negligent driving, said Chouddagram police OC Abdullah Al Mahfuz.
He added that if any authorities of the brickfield where the workers were employed were found negligent, they will be charged as well.
Meanwhile, Cumilla district police Superintendent Abdullah Al Mamun said that the district has formed two committees to probe the matter.
On Friday (Jan 25), 13 brickfield workers were killed and five were injured as a coal-laden truck tumbled over and fell on their hut while unloading.
