A Jubo League activist has been hacked to death in Kishoreganj.
The incident was reported from the city’s Isa Kha road around 9.30pm on Friday (Jan 25), said police.
The deceased has been identified as Monir Hossain.

His brother Yakub Sumon, councilor of ward No 6 of Kishoreganj Municipality, was also injured in the incident.

Police said that unidentified miscreants hacked Monir and his brother late on Friday (Jan 25). They were rushed to Kishoreganj General Hospital first. Later, they were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where doctor declared Monir dead around 11:30pm. Yakub Sumon has been admitted at the hospital.

“Being informed, police visited the spot. Later, police conducted several drives in the city and detained 10 suspects with weapons,” Kishoreganj police OC Md Ahsan Habib told Bangla Tribune.

“Additional police force has been deployed in the area,” OC Habib said before adding, “The body has been kept at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy,”
