NarailMiscreants have hacked a centennial woman to death in Narail’s Lohagara upazila, police says.
The incident was reported on Friday (Jan 4) night from Sarol-Baghdanga village, confirmed Lohagara police OC Prabir Kumar Biswas.
The victim has been identified as Hajera Begum, a widow of Late Amir Hossain.
According to police and the victim’s relatives, locals informed police after spotting a bloodied body of Hajera beside her residence on Saturday (Jan 5) morning. Police recovered and shifted the body to Narail Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
While the motive behind the murder is yet to be known, it is suspected that she may have been killed because of an ongoing conflict between her two sons and their cousin over land properties.

Lutfor Rahman Khan and Akram Hossain Khan, sons of Hajera, have been feuding with their cousin Abul Kalam Azad for a long time now. Around two months ago, Azad’s men attacked and injured Akram over the same dispute, said the locals.

OC Biswas said that the police are hunting down the killers.

“We are hoping to get to the bottom of it in a rapid manner,” he said.
