Narail BNP polling agent held for ‘attempt to bribe OC’

Representational ImageA polling agent of BNP has been detained on the allegation of an attempt to bribe Tk 50,000 an officer-in-charge (OC) in Narail.
The detention was reported from the district’s Sadar Upazila on Thursday (Dec 27) night, police said.
The detainee was Reazul Islam, 38, son Nazrul Islam of Mahishkhola area of the district’s Sadar Upazila, is a polling agent of BNP candidate Bishwas Jahangir Alam for Narail 1 constituency.
Narail police SP Md Jasim Uddin told Bangla Tribune, “Instructed by district BNP unit joint secretary general and its election coordinator Mahbub Morshed, Reazul came to the Sadar police station to bribe its OC Md Iliyas Hossain.
Later, police nabbed the BNP polling agent.
Police opened a case in this connection, said the SP.
