Police in Chuadanga say they have arrested an activist of an extremist outfit in possession of firearm.
Abdus Sattar, who was wanted in several cases, was nabbed early on Thursday near the railway station in Alamdanga Upazila, said Inspector Lutful Kabir of the local police.
A firearm, ammunition and other weapons were found on the 36-year-old, he added.
“He was arrested around 1am near the railway station during a raid led by OC Abu Zihad Md Fakhrul Alam Khan,” said the police officer.
OC Khan said that Sattar, who belongs to an extremist outfit, was wanted for several charges, including for murder.
