Motorbikes torched in front of BNP office in Natore on Saturday (Dec 2).Unidentified miscreants set fire to a motorcycle and vandalised few others in front of a temporary office of BNP in Natore.
Around 6pm on Saturday, miscreants, on at least five motorbikes came to the BNP office which is housed at the residence of Natore BNP unit chief Ruhul Kuddus Talukhdar, and set fire to the motorcycles parked there, district BNP General Secretary Aminul Haque cited the eyewitness.
Haque claimed such incidents have been created to spread fear and prevent BNP from to contest in the upcoming polls.
Advocate Malek Sheikh, Organizing Secretary of Natore unit Awami League, refuted the claim saying that BNP itself orchestrated the attack to destabilise the electoral atmosphere.
Natore Sadar police OC Jalal Uddin said, “The owner of the burnt motorbike has not yet been identified.”
“No complaint has been filed over the incident yet and legal actions will be taken after a complaint is filed,” he added.
Police seized the motorbike and kept at the police station.
A BNP supporter, Golam Mowla, claimed that he owned the burnt motorbike.
