A Union Parishad member allegedly visited an exam hall of a high school at Bagerhat’s Mongla Upazila without prior notice.
Md Oliar Rahman visited the exam hall of the annual examination at the upazila’s Joymoni Secondary School on Tuesday (Nov 27) without informing the institution’s authorities.
Rahman, a member of Chila Union Parishad’s Ward 8 unit, also shared his experience on a social media post.
Sardar Jalal, headmaster of the school, said, “Rahman entered the exam hall without my knowledge.”
“There is no rule barring a UP member from entering an exam hall,” he added.
The Facebook post shows that Md Oliar Rahman was visiting an exam hall in the presence of an invigilator.
Locals asked how Oliar could enter an exam hall as he is not an administrative official.
When contacted, Rahman’s phone was found to be switched off.
“A UP member doesn’t have any authority to visit an exam hall,” Mongla Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Rabiul Islam told Bangla Tribune.
“I watched the image shared on the social media and necessary steps will be taken over the incident,” the UNO added.
