An activist of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead during a gunfight between rival groups in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari, says police.

The incident was reported from Boradam area of Dighinala during early hours on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Sumonto Bikash Chakma, who was an activist of UPDF(Democratic) faction, according to locals.

OC Uttam Dey said, two factions of UPDF (prosit & decomratic) engaged in a gunfight leaving Sumonto dead.
