An accident has killed at least two people and injured 35 others in Rangpur.
The incident was reported on Tuesday night from the district’s Pirganj Upazila, said police.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
“A Dhaka-bound bus of ‘United Paribahan’ from Bhurungamari turned turtle after being hit by another bus while overtaking it at upazila’s Khedmatpur area on Bogura-Rangpur Highway. Being informed, local fire fighting unit and highway police rescued the victims and sent them to nearby hospitals,” said Pirganj police OC Saras Chandra.
“24 injured have been treated at Rangpur Medical College Hospital among four are in critical condition,” he added.
“The two buses have been seized while the drivers and their assistances have managed to flee from the spot,” added OC Saras Chandra.
