A headmaster in Bogura has been arrested for serving Hindu students food containing beef during a school event.
The arrestee is 45-year-old Hannan, the headmaster of Pirgacha AF Girls High School.
The students and Hindu community of the area carried out protests and human chains following the incident and handed Hannan over to the police.
“He has been arrested for hurting the religious sentiment of Hindu community,” said Bogura police OC Badiuzzaman.
“An investigation regarding the matter has been opened,” he added.
However, Hannan claims that no such thing happened and the food was actually cooked with mutton.
