The government has ensured fair conditions for all parties to take part in the 11th National Election, says Finance Minister AMA Muhith.
“We can have a free and fair election with if all the parties cooperate,” he said at an event at Sunamganj’s Derai Upazila on Sunday (Sept 30).
“Representatives of parties, who have representation in the parliament will constitute the polls-time government,” he added.
The octogenarian minister reiterated that he will not be running in the upcoming election.
“Either of the organizing secretaries, Mesbah Uddin or Dr Momen will be nominated in my place (Sylhet-1 constituency),” he said.
The minister was the guest of honour at a seminar for the empowerment of women organized by the Female Academy at Sunamganj.
During his speech, he pledged that the government will help the Female Academy in whatever capacity it can.
