President M Abdul Hamid has urged the people to make an informed decision when it comes to casting their franchises in the upcoming general election.
“Do not vote for corrupt politicians,” he said addressing a reception for him in Kishoreganj on Wednesday (Sept 26).
The event took place at the district’s Mithamoin Upazila to commemorate his two consecutive terms as president.
Hamid urged the people to vote for responsible candidates not only in the national elections but also in the union elections.
The president, who is currently on a five-day tour to his hometown inaugurated the Itna Upazila Mulktijoddha Command office there and visited two schools.
He also visited the Itna Zero point and Chilni parts on the under-construction Itna- Mithamoin- Austagram highway, which connects three upazilas of Kishoreganj – Austagram, Itna and Mithamoin.
The president is set to return to Dhaka on Sept 28.
