Awami League leaders who lack public support on their favour will not get party nomination to contest in the upcoming general election, BSS quoted the party General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
The Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the remark on Saturday during a speech at a public rally at Gajendranath Bishwanath High School in Cumilla’s Eliotganj.
The Awami League leaders enjoying the maximum public support will get party nomination to contest in the upcoming parliament polls,he said.
Addressing another rally in the district Quader said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has survey reports on activities of AL leaders. Leaders who have the maximum acceptance to the people as per the survey will get AL nominations, he added.
The ruling party general secretary was in Cumilla as part of his organizational trip from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar.
