Workers launch movement to implement wage commission

Jute mill.Jute mills workers have launched a movement programme to implement Wage Commission.
The workers under the banner of Bangladesh Jute Mills CBA, Non-CBA Forum have also placed five other demands to ensure their basic rights.
The programme, continue till Oct 5, includes blockade of roads and rail network on Sept 30 and Oct 2.
The forum will announce next course of action if the demands are not by Oct 5.
The agitated workers of Khulna’s Khalishpur, Crescent, Platinum, Daulatpur, Star, Eastern and Alim jute mills and Noapara’s Jessore Jute Industry organised a meeting on Thursday and expressed their demands.
Labour leader Md Sohrab Hossain said, “We have a series of programmes including blockade of highways and railway.”
