‘Drug peddler’ killed in Rangpur ‘shootout’

An alleged drug peddler has been killed in Rangpur city in what the RAB describe it as a shootout.
The victim has been identified as Shaokat Ali Ghughu.
The incident was reported in the wee hours of Friday from city’s Radha Krishnapur area, said RAB.
“Acting on a tip-off, RAB conducted a raid at Rahamat Para area. Sensing the presence of the law enforcing battalion, a group of people opened fire which triggered the shootout. Later, Shaokat Ali Ghughu was found dead at the scene,” said RAB-13 media officer ASP Khandakar Golam Mortuza.

"A pistol, three rounds of bullet and huge amount of narcotics were seized from the spot," he added.
“Ghughu was a listed criminal in 13 cases,” the elite force official added.
The body has been kept at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
