A woman and her 7-year-old daughter have found dead inside their home in the northern district of Bogura on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Ruby Begum, 26, wife of Yusuf Ali Sheikh, a migrant worker, and their daughter Sumaya Khatun.

Neighbours reported to police after finding the bodies.

Police said the woman’s body had injuries inflicted by sharp weapons while the child was strangled to death.

“It’s too early to say the motive behind the killings, but we suspect family feud or extra marital affair,” said Sub Inspector Manjrul Haque Bhuiyan.

A case is yet to be started and no arrests have been made so far, said Bogura police OC SM Badiuzzaman.
