The death toll in a crash between a bus and a human hauler in Narsingdi has risen to 10 and as many injured.

The accident was reported around 8:30pm on Monday (Aug 20) on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at the district’s Belabo Upazila, said police.

“Eight people were killed on the spot in the head-on collision between a bus and a human hauler. Eight others have been taken to hospitals from the scene,” Belabo police OC Jabed Mahmud told Bangla Tribune.

Another died on way to the hospital while one succumbed to injuries at a local hospital.

The identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed, said the police officer before adding that the fire service, police and locals have opened a rescue effort.
