People of four defunct enclaves in Nilphamari for the first time observed the National Mourning Day on Wednesday.
The day opened through hoisting the national flag half-mast at the dawn on Aug 15 at Shaheed Sriti Government Primary School premises in Nayabangla area.
A rally was held marking the day at 9am.
The leader of enclave movement Farhad Hossain said, “Enclaves have been abolished three years ago but, no attempt was taken to commemorate the death anniversary of Bangabandhu yet. We will observe the day every year.”
Discussion event, essay writing and art competition were held to mark the day at the school premises.
