Launch owners will add eight more vessels on Dhaka-Barishal route from Aug 18 to Sept 1 to cope with the passengers rush ahead and after Eid-ul-Adha, a source said.
With these eight, a total of 30 launches will run on the route during the Eid holidays.
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) will also add six more vessels to its fleet.
These vessels will be operated between Aus 16 to Aug 28.
The BIWTA has been working of security preparation for home-bound people on the waterways, officials said.
