Tofail Ahmed was talking to the newsmen in Bhola on Aug 2, 2018.Describing the students’ protest for safe roads as logical, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed alleged that BNP is making it a political issue.
“We all including the prime minister lamented for the two fallen teenagers but, BNP wants to politicise everything which we don’t do.”
The senior Awami League leader told this to a group of journalists after inaugurating the newly made modernized bus terminal in Bhola’s Charfasson on Thursday.
BNP tries to smell the rat in everything; it is unexpected to drag all issues into politics, he added.
Tofail Ahmed also reaffirmed that there will be no compromise to ensure exemplary punishment to the driver who killed the students.
On Sunday (Jul 29), two students were killed in an accident on capital’s Airport road by speeding bus which was racing with another one for passengers.
Anger erupted following the incident as the students occupied roads in the capital to heed their demands to ensure safe roads and capital punishment of the responsible for the accident.
