Rejwanul Haque Choudhury Shovon has been made the new president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wings of ruling Awami League (AL), and Golam Rabbani the general secretary.
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, on behalf of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, formally announced the new leadership late on Tuesday.
The announcement came two months after the BCL’s National Council held on mid-May this year, which was supposed to select the new leadership.
Shovon and Rabbani are the students of DU’s Law Department.
Md Saddam Hussain and Sonjit Chandra Das were made the new president and secretary of BCL Dhaka University unit respectively.
Md Ibrahim and Saidur Rahman Hridoy were made the new president and secretary, respectively, of Dhaka metropolitan (north) unit.
Mehedi Hasan and Md Jobayer Ahmed were selected as the new president and secretary, respectively, of Dhaka metropolitan (south) unit.
